We hope to arrange a meeting with all relevant parties within the St.Helens Borough which would address the four main issues which we at Senior Voice target Health ,Security,Housing &Transport. At this meeting there would be representatives of all the major service providers who will be able too ste out their intended policies for the future they would be given time to place on record any changes they foreseen plus any demise in the services provided this would then allow our members to question each one while also being able to raise their concerns, give their ideas ,and become a part of the discussions around Health Security Housing Transport all of these relate in some way to a far larger problem and one that will become a real problem with the number of people using the Digital way of contact that is Loneness & Isolation .
St.Helens Senior Voice was formed fifteen years ago to represent the views of those over Fifty years of age and their Carers should they have someone in the past we have commissioned reports on Housing with John Moores University we work alongside the CCG and the Council to increase awareness of healthy living by staging events across the Bourough for instance this month we will be staging Winter Warm events that will distribute packs to those seen as being vunerable to poor heating of their homes We are strongly commited to using the forum as a way to influence and improve local services and improve life expectancy. On the first of October we began the Contract for the older peoples forum in St.Helens on behalf of the CCG if we where successful inour bid we would be able to expand our membership which is around Six Hundred to One Thousand Two Hundred a One Hundred percent increase in the number of older people who could be contacted and be engaged but without further funding we would find this impossible .Senior Voice is run by a committed group of volunteers most of which have been involved with charity work for over twenty years
